Power Up!

I have noticed in several of the hotspots that I frequent a lack of power outlets in places I sit. So, if you are thinking about providing wireless Internet in your coffee house, hotel, or restaurant, please think about where your laptop users may need to plug-in. Just a quick search of Home Depot’s site turned up a six outlet, non-surge suppressed, wall mount adapter. I like that one for aftermarket modification because it is simple to install and it can screw into the face plate. If you find one that doesn’t secure in some way, avoid it if you don’t want to have someone accidentally see-saw it out of the wall. Six ports may rarely be used, but some customers will appreciate the option, if needed.

So, this is the obligatory first post of a new consolidated website for Stancil Consulting, Scott Stancil, and Wireless Hobo. What is coming? I don’t know quite yet. I think I will blog a bit about IT issues in South Baldwin County, update my resume, and provide information on the moonlighting that I do outside of my regular employment with webslingerz.
